The Spring Grove Area Middle School and Intermediate School TARC teams have been designing and building TARC rockets for the past 2+ months.  The teams are nearing completion of their very first rocket. There is plenty of activity, hard to take candid shots without a lot of movement.

NASA SLI team member Dylan, successfully completes NAR level 1 test flight

Several team members are currently building their level 1 NAR rockets.  All rockets are designed on either RockSim or OpenRocket and use stock parts to build their level 1 rocket.  Dylan successfully completed his level 1 flight test on Saturday at MDRA.  Congratulations Dylan!

Spring Grove NASA SLI team successfully flies their subscale rocket

The NASA SLI team from Spring Grove Area High School traveled to Price, MD on Saturday to brave the wind and cold to fly their subscale rocket.  The rocket was very stable and completed a safe landing with no major damage to any part of the rocket.  Great job team!

During the NASA SLI progam, there are major milestones where the team musty complete a written document and then a 30min oral presentation via video conference.  The first is the Preliminary Design Review (PDR).  The remaining two are the Critical Design Review (CDR) in January and the Flight Readiness Review (FRR) in March.

Local business donates gift cards that will be used as prizes for our Gift Card Bingo at the York New Salem Fire Company on Dec 8.  The team is currently soliciting local businesses for gift cards or gift certificates to be used at the bingo.

The York New Salem Fire Company is hosting a Gift Card Bingo to benefit the Spring Grove rocketry team on Sunday December 8 at 2pm (doors open at noon).  Tickets are only $20 for 20 regular games.  There will be two additional specials available for purchase at the event.  Tickets are available from team members or by contacting [email protected]  Tickets can be purchased with cash or check made payable to SGASD.  Thank you for supporting our rocket scientists!

Rutters selects the Spring Grove Rocketry Team as a charity for their Rutters Rewards Schools program.  If you are a Rutters VIP member, please go to the Rutters website and login.  Once logged in, click the Rutters Rewards Schools tab.  Select Spring Grove Rocketry Team and click on the "Support Selected Charity" button.  Every time that you use your card during the months of November, December and January, Rutters will make a donation toward our program.  If you are not a VIP member, you can use your card on the Rutters website to resister your card and create a Login.

Currently we have our 3D printer printing more nose cones for the TARC 2020 competition.  We have been printing our nose cones for several years with a few top 10 finishes in the country!
