Most of the teams flew for the first time on Jan 13 in the surprising 50 degree and still weather.  The launches looked good with some near perfect on the altitude or time.  No back to building and tweaking for the next launch.

Apophis flies for the first time

The 18 pound rocket flew on a CTI J380 Smokey Sam motor on Saturday for proof of concept.  The flight was straight and the deployment of the drogue and main parachutes went according to plan.  The rocket landed with no damage.  The motor was smaller than the planned motor due to the wind to cut down on drift.
