Altitude rocket places Second overall at the Battle of the Rockets!

4/16/2018

In the altitude rocket competition, a rocket had to be built that would reach a target altitude of 1312ft exactly on an F motor.  The winds on Saturday were 15-18mph, which made it very difficult to reach specific altitudes but the Spring Grove team averaged only 15ft off the target height earning second overall.  The best university team averaged 60ft from the target altitude.  Congratulations Rocket Scientists!

The Rover Rocket which we built and flew with Dover High School flew successfully today at the Battle of the Rockets in Culpeper, VA.  The rover deployed and drove around after landing.  Very challenging wind conditions made it difficult.  The wind was 15-18mph and the range was even closed for 1.5h in the afternoon because the wind was too high. The awrds will either be handed out tomorrow or early next week.
