Helping elementary school with reading program

The Spring Grove rocketry team are helping a district elementary school with their new school wide reading program. "Blast off to the Moon" is a new reading program for Paradise Elementary School, a National Blue Ribbon School. We have loaned them a level 2 sized rocket to hang in the school and will be launching some small model rockets to kick off the campaign. Here you can see a picture of the rocket hanging in Paradise Elementary.

Rutters Rewards fund raiser

If you are a Rutters Rewards card member, please register your card to become a VIP member on their website. Once you are a VIP member, you can login on their website by clicking on "Rewards" and then entering your phone number and PIN. Once logged in click on "Rutters Rewards Schools" on the right side of the page and then select "SGASD - Student Launch Initiative" and at the bottom of the page "Support Selected Charity". It will then say that "your charity has been selected". Once selected, any time you use your rewards card for any purchase at any Rutters, we receive a donation from the company.

Pain Night Fund Raiser

There will be a Paint Night fund raiser to support our NASA SLI team on Monday October 24 at 6pm at the high school cafeteria. For only $40, you can paint the picture below. The fee covers all materials and instruction. There will also be refreshments for sale that evening to support the team. Spring Grove SLI team tours NASA Goddard.

The Spring Grove NASA SLI team recently toured the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD. The tour consisted of the clean room facility where they are finishing the James H Webb space telescope that will replace the Hubble, the WFirst space telescope and the IceSat 2 satellite. It was an amazing experience to see these being built and tested right in front of us.
